First and foremost, let me clarify this; 111SKIN Space Anti Age Day Cream works fine when used at night time too. It doesn't contain any chemical or physical sun filters and it doesn't feel particularly light when used under the make-up personally, which I will explain in the later part of the post.

Scent & Consistency
In fact, I was initially very surprised that the finish of 111SKIN's Space Anti Age Day Cream is very similar to La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream that I've been using frequently. It actually smells more subtle than La Mer's, so if you are someone who has a problem with La Mer's signature scent, then you can certainly try out 111SKIN. I honestly didn't know that the cream actually contained fragrance until I checked the ingredients. Yes, the scent is pleasantly subtle, and it didn't make me feel sick or anything.
Talking of the texture of Space Anti Age Day Cream, it's very interesting that it feels light. It feels more like a emulsified silicon primer.
There's some gooey dense feel to the runny emulsion, then it quickly turns out to be an oil-in-emulsion like cream as you massage onto skin. I was wrong to assume that the finish would be as light as their texture. It certainly goes on lighter than La Mer Soft Cream, but the finish of it is about the same; glowing and dewy.

Effectiveness & Tips
The overall finish of 111SKIN Space Anti Age Day Cream also feels very similar to the usual oil-serum finish on the market. I'm saying this, because Space Anti Age Day Cream doesn't seem to deliver particularly deep hydration to skin. However, it does seem to focus more on protecting skin's barrier. Having said that, I found that the longevity of the hydration quickly decreases when the heater's on, which means that the cream seems to be effective for up to 8-10 hours max under the assumption that your skin is pretty much normal without any dryness or dehydration issues.
For this reason, I've been keeping my Estée Lauder Micro Essence Aquaceutical™ Mist near the couch as I like to spray it onto my face regularly. If you have a inner skin thirst, and still want to try the cream, then I suggest you to layer it over a hydrating serum or a first essence.
I wouldn't recommend you to mix a face oil into the cream, as the finish of the cream already feels dewy enough. However, if you still prefer using a face oil underneath the cream, I highly recommend Kahina Giving Beauty Prickly Pear Seed Oil as it's fast absorbing and works great for even sensitive skin types.
Although Dr Alexandrides's work with space scientists on 111SKIN's healing skincare may sound very familiar and similar to Dr Max Huber's innovation on La Mer's signature healing miracle, I personally find the La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream works better for dehydrated skin types and also as a make-up base. The problem with 111SKIN Space Anti Age Day Cream is that it sort of creates a fine film on top of skin, which may not get along well with some of the primers or even sunscreens that has a similar finish and/or even a skin mattifying finish.
What's NAC Y2 formula?
Each 111SKIN product contains the unique patented NAC Y2 formula, a potent trio of peptides and antioxidants, proven to delay ageing. The formula stimulates the body's natural repair system to work on the lines and wrinkles that are already present. NAC Y2 is composed of the following:
NAC, or N - ACETYL CYSTEINE- an amino acid that encourages collagen production, to improve skin elasticity and repair the skin.
Ascorbyl Phosphate (the most potent derivative of Vitamin C)- an antioxidant that helps fight free radicals that cause ageing, promotes collagen production, and helps even out and brighten the complexion.
Escin - is a potent group of antioxidants that transports NAC and Ascorbyl Phosphate directly to the deep layers of the skin to stimulate cell renewal and skin regeneration.
Together, these powerful ingredients work in synergy to detoxify, hydrate and regenerate the skin, while fighting free radicals.
I can see that 111SKIN team tried to make the cream very light yet hydrating for daytime usage, but it's nevertheless not enough to be worn under the make-up or some of the high-end sunscreens that I like to use on a daily basis. As I mentioned earlier, I don't see any problem using the cream at night as it doesn't have any SPF, and also it hasn't been giving me any breakouts. Rather, I've noticed that my pimple marks from my monthly have been healing faster and fading, which is good news. Trust me, I was very tempted to use my La Mer products, but I leap a leap of faith in 111SKIN as their philosophy behind the products sounded quite similar to La Mer's :3.
So there you go, if you don't have skin dehydration issues or you just want the subtler scent and lighter texture on top of the dewy glow from La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream, the you can certainly try 111SKIN Space Anti Age Day Cream as an alternative. Hey, it's way more affordable too! :)
