As I've already talked about Dr Macrene and her 37 Extreme Actives skincare products, I indeed love her idea of one good product works for all. In fact, that's my philosophy whenever I buy something that versatility and quality do matter to me personally.
Anyway, Dr Macrene recentlyadded 37 Actives High Performance Anti-Aging and Filler Lip Treatment into her collection this year, and I'm on my second one now :). Just like her other products, the lip treatment is packed with good ingredients sharing the coherent concept one for all and all-in-one. It's a lip hydrant and a primer in one treatment that comes in a roller ball bottle.
I have very dry sensitive lips that are prone to get cold sores very easily even just from having some salty popcorn and using lipsticks and lip glosses from certain brands. Even worse, I cannot use any lip balms including natural ones on the market as many lip balms actually make my lips itchy and even drier. So I don't normally test any kinds of lip products out of curiosity like how I would do with sunscreens. Rather, I like to stick to the ones that has been working well over the years without causing any irritation on my lips. Having said that, it was a bit of gamble when I decided to try 37 Actives High Performance Anti-Aging and Filler Lip Treatment, but I put a leap of faith as I found other 37 Actives skincare products gentle and non-irritating.
I've been using it over Autumn and Winter, and here is how I feel about the products. First and foremost, 37 Actives High Performance Anti-Aging and Filler Lip Treatment doesn't irritate my lips at all, not even slightly. Even after several re-applications throughout the day, it doesn't make my lips feel itchy unlike some other lip products on the market. Yaaaay <3
Secondly, it has a roller ball tip so I don't need to use my finger tips or even a lip brush to apply. The roller ball glides onto my lips very smoothly and helps with even application. On top of that, I really love the cooling sensation that the cold roller ball delivers whenever I re-apply the treatment.
How to use / Tips
Having said that, it dispenses a bit too much at once until you are half way through the bottle. It's quite difficult to control until you use at least a third of the product, so I recommend you to either dabbing on the lips rather than smoothing over or applying only on the lower lip and put lips together to spread to the upper lip.
However, I've been putting it very generously over my lips intentionally as I like to use it like an overnight lip mask. It has been working great even in the cold Winter and my lips look and feel more hydrated and regenerated upon wake-up. I wouldn't say that it gives that perfect plumped pout, but it does seem to give a subtle plumped look to the lips only if a generous amount is put on.
In terms of lip wrinkle prevention, yes, 37 Actives High Performance Anti-Aging and Filler Lip Treatment does do its job and keeps my lips soft. Note that it doesn't contain petrolatum or lanolin unlike other brands, so the texture is very light and it almost feels like a lip serum. Actually, I sometimes put it on underneath my other lip balms when I go out for a walk with my border collies Yuna and Yena for extra deep hydration for my lips.
Although 37 Actives High Performance Anti-Aging and Filler Lip Treatment doesn't superficially hydrate, the hydration doesn't last very long relatively compared to the other lip balms containing petrolatum or lanolin. This isn't surprising for a natural lip treatment, meaning you will need to re-apply more frequently throughout the day even after drinking coffee or even tea. I would say that I re-apply approximately once every 2-3 hours daily. However, after regular usage, I've noticed that my lips don't seem to get dry easily, which seems to me that my lips may have become more resilient. That's good news, hey! :)
By the way, I wouldn't use it on top of lipsticks or lip glosses for re-application as it isn't very hygienic unless you clean the tip with a clean tissue whenever you use the treatment. On top of that, I've been using it by itself as I always intentionally avoid mixing it with other lip products since I might get an itch from it.
Overall, 37 Actives High Performance Anti-Aging and Filler Lip Treatment by itself works wonderfully. However, if you are someone who doesn't like to re-apply a lip treatment diligently, then the lip treatment probably won't be good for you as you won't get full benefits. And the lip treatment doesn't seem to do anything with lip make-up longevity, so if you need those perfect lips, then you might have to pass as it has a glossy finish rather than matte. However, if you have such tricky sensitive lips like mine, then 37 Actives High Performance Anti-Aging and Filler Lip Treatment will work fine. There's a bit of minty flavour but it isn't major at all, rather I feel that it gives a bit of a therapeutic effect on my lips :). I highly recommend! <3
