Fresh Peony Brightening Night Treatment Mask has a pleasant floral scent, but sadly it does contain artificial fragrance in spite of the concept of natural skincare. Although it smells very nice, I would absolutely avoid going near the eye area as it has stung my eyes even though I didn't even put it near my eyes.
Having said that, the texture of the cream is actually quite interesting in a positive way. At a glance, it seemed more like a bouncy and light cream mask. However, it's very akin to a pleasant lightweight version of La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream.
It spreads fine, and the difference is that Peony Brightening Night Treatment Mask doesn't have that oil rich heaviness, which makes it perfect to use under make-up.
Once fully absorbed, skin feels very smooth to touch with a healthy glow. It certainly feels moisturising, but I wouldn't say that it's deeply hydrating. Those with dehydrated skin will need an extra serum underneath.

Effectiveness/ Tips
Thanks to the universal consistency of the mask, you can basically pair it with any skincare products, which is great as you don't need to worry about whether the mask will peel off any of your expensive skincare products that you use. Despite the fact that Fresh Peony Night Treatment Mask is designed for brightening, I didn't see much improvement on my existing sun spots. However, I've noticed that my skin has started looking more fresh and healthier overall. I've seen the best results especially those nights that I put on my hydrating serum before the mask. They work great together and my skin feel velvety smooth upon wakeup. My aim is mostly to inhibit the future sun spots, so I always follow up with a reliable sunscreen in the following morning as I don't want to reverse the effect.
The mask is perfect to be used alone over warmer seasons, but when my skin gets a little dry like in Autumn and Winter, I like to add a few drops of Kahina Giving Beauty Argan oil to intensify and extend the moisturising benefit. I haven't got any sensitivity from using it over my cycle, and I've also found that it helps healing spots from popping pimples and minor scratches on my hand from playing rough with my dogs :3. Fresh Peony Brightening Night Treatment Mask doesn't work like an in-office peels or a laser, but it will work best for those who start early in a brightening skincare routine to hinder those unwanted pigmentations in skin or even to maintain your result after in-office treatments as long as your skin isn't sensitive to fragrance.
