Institut Esthederm Pure System range has been featured several times in my previous posts on PMS skin care and Moisturisers for oily / combo / PMS skin types, and I thought that they need a bit more attention as I've been enjoying them even more as weather has become very hot here in WA.
OSMOCLEAN Pure Cleansing Gel has a fresh scented clear gel texture, which lathers beautifully and makes lots of fine soft foam very easily.
So you only need a very small amount.
Probably because of the scent, it indeed makes you realise once again it's summer XD.
When cleansing, it feels very smooth on the skin, and there's no stripping feeling at all. It just leaves skin looking more clear and feeling smooth and clean. It really doesn't feel harsh at all. I don't think that it actually controls oil production throughout the day, but I've noticed that it sort of keeps pores clear.
I personally don't like the products specifically designed for oily / combination skin types as they can be either too harsh or too drying for skin in the long term. I especially avoid using them during summer as I've found that they tend to make my skin too sensitive regardless due to how religiously I apply sunscreen throughout the day. And most of them leave skin a bit too mattified that even applying a mineral sunscreen is a challenge -_-. LOL.
Texture & Scent
And if you have been avoiding using the products for similar reasons that I just shared, then you should try Institut Esthederm Pure System Pure Control Care - Cream. It's an emulsion which isn't too think or too light, and spreads onto skin very easily and comfortably. Even better, it smells quite sweet and delicious XD. Don't worry, it doesn't smell overpowering, so you won't get sick. But somehow, the moisturiser always makes me feel like having some desert whenever I put it on :3.
Once you put it on, it feels like you just put on a regular lightweight moisturiser. However, it leaves a beautiful slightly mattifying velvety finish when it's fully absorbed, which only takes about 30 sec to a minute or so.
The Pure Control Care Cream is a true innovation in the treatment of oily skin. Thanks to the PURE SYSTEM skin feels comfortable.
When soothed, it normalizes its production of sebum and has no reason to flare up. The skin is detoxed and purified.
Skin is matte, skin texture is improved and the complexion is clearer.
[It] Promotes peeling, thinning of the stratum corneum and eliminates impurities and blackheads:
- Helps the skin regulate its own purity
- Preserves the youthfulness of the skin
- Boosts the skin's vital functions and its cellular activity
It controls oil production pretty well such that my makeup can last about 4-5 hours without blotting, but clearly you might need to blot a bit more frequently if you have oily and/or acne prone skin. If you get oily only around the T-zone area, then you can use it on just that area. I never really felt that I needed an extra primer designed for oily skin types, so you just put on whatever complexion products that you want to put on next.
To be honest, it didn't seem to really reduce the size of the breakouts that I get monthly, but I felt that it sort of prevents them from getting angry further. I think that it's more effective as a sebum control treatment rather than working on hormonal breakouts directly. However, if your skin gets oily during that time of the month or even in general and are in need of some control, then I think it's well worth trying it :).
Where to Get
Institut Esthederm products are in general quite hard to buy from overseas, so I highly recommend you to buy them from online shopping websites that offers free worldwide delivery.
