ORIBE Dry Texturizing Spray & CHANEL N°5 Hair Mist

Published by Jasmine Seo

I don't normally use any hair spray since I believe that it's bad for my hair.
But, But...
There's always an exception, hey! >_<
Who knew that I'd fall in love with Dry Texturizing Spray by Oribe?

I don't wash my hair every day, so I was looking for a dry shampoo a few summers ago.
(By the way, if you have a dry scalp like me, washing hair daily is very BAD for your hair :/ )
It isn't that my hair gets greasy in summer, I just don't like the humid/steamy feel in my hair.
I have A LOT of hair, so it gets worse in summer -_-...Duh.. This is the main reason why I carry around their travel size Dry Texturizing Spray with me all the time, it's very handy indeed XD.
So in search of a decent dry shampoo, I had a chance to try out Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray at the hair salon that I used to go to.
My first impression was...

Wow!
Smells incredible!
Sweet, deep and exotic.

The scent isn't overpowering, but I'd say it is definitely very scented.
So if you are someone who prefers natural scented products, this may not be the best for you.
Anyway, it's been working well making my hair and scalp feel fresh on my no-hair-wash days.
Even better, it adds some volume to your hair, and it doesn't make any mess unlike regular dry shampoos.
Although it acts as a dry shampoo, I wouldn't say Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray is suitable for very greasy hair/scalps, mainly because it's not as very oil absorbing as other dry shampoos on the market.
If you have very greasy hair/scalp, you're better off washing your hair rather than piling up a dry shampoo to be honest.
Also note that whenever you use any kinds of dry shampoo, you should wash your hair on the following day at latest. It's just dry shampoo buildups isn't as good for your scalp as using heated hair stylers.

As for Chanel No 5 Hair Mist, it was such a disappointment personally.
I didn't even try it out before purchasing at the counter since I just love their No 5 range.
I thought the scent will be about the same as other products in their range, but this Chanel No 5 hair Mist isn't. It has very overpowering heavily powder scent in it even though it claims to have a sheer scent.
Can you imagine; classic No 5 scent + heavy powdery scent? -_-
It's just way too much!
I literally had to hold my breath and spray onto my hair.
Trust me, you don't want to spray generously, just spray very little, it's that much strong -_-.

And there's an issue with the packaging too.
I know it's a perfume for hair, BUT I think it should come out like a fine mist (hence the name), which it sadly doesn't for this one. Also, the tip twists like other perfumes, so you should always make sure the tip heads towards your hair, not other parts of your body -_-. I accidentally sprayed it on to my face a few times, and it really made me feel sick... :/ It feels like it contains heavy amounts of alcohol, so I'm not sure if this spray will be good for my hair for long run.
