Chanel Review > Le Blanc Crème (Healthy Light Creator/ Brightening moisturiser)

Published by Jasmine Seo

Chanel Le Blanc Crème was one of the moisturisers that I took with me for my last visit to Australia over Summer as I had absolutely no idea how my skin would do with the local weather conditions, despite living there for almost a decade in the past. Back then, my skin used to be active and more like oily combination, but now that I've been getting older, my skin tends to be more normal/dehydrated depending on the season.

Nevertheless, I've been using their Le Blanc skincare line on a regular basis since my late teenage years, so I knew that Le Blanc Crème wouldn't break my skin out.

Scent & Consistency

Chanel Le Blanc Crème is floral scented, which smells quite invigorating and somewhat summery.

The cream has an interesting texture as it carries Chanel's unique oil-infused finish. It may look like a generic cream from the surface, but its consistency sits in between gel and cream.

When it contacts skin initially, it feels rather more like a water charged cream, which makes it quite soft and somewhat refreshing. Once you start massaging it into skin, you will notice a light oil infused finish as it leaves a natural dewy glow without any sticky residue.

It doesn't leave any heavy weight on skin, and I've noticed that it actually hydrates skin quite nicely even without any serum underneath.

Benefits

A comforting moisturizer that delivers intense, long-lasting hydration and reduces the appearance of dark spots. With use, the complexion appears soft, even, plump and luminous.

Verdict

If you have normal to combination skin and are considering getting Chanel Le Blanc Crème for this Summer, you won't need any serums before using the moisturiser as it hydrates skin well. If you have oily skin though, you might want to apply a small amount of the cream after using a facial mist while skin's still slightly wet. In the past and still now, I tend to avoid brightening creams as they tend to be either too light and/or irritating as most include skin resurfacing ingredients including glycolic and lactic acids. I've found them to be a little too much throughout Summer even when I would use them during the nighttime only as my skin is more prone to sensitivity.

Fortunately, I didn't have such problems with Chanel Le Blanc Crème in very hot and humid Summer in Brisbane, and I didn't need to worry about any stinging feeling upon application. Just the right amount of comfort and hydration skin in Le Blanc Crème seemed to somewhat help my skin from not getting overly dry or sensitised from intense air conditioning and sun exposure.

In terms of new sunspots, I didn't get any new sunspots, possibly also because I used my sunscreen religiously. Having said that, I also got lightly tanned quite nicely without any skin flakiness, so I was quite content with that. Chanel Le Blanc Crème seems to be more about keeping skin more even toned and well-balanced (hydration). What's even better for me is that it works well healing some fresh pimple marks from my cycle while not aggravating my skin.
