If you are considering La Prairie skin care, then I'm quite certain that it's mainly from the amount of complements their Skin Caviar Collection gets. Although their products are all lovely, the Skin Caviar Collection indeed stands out the most not just because of the rich history, but also because of the popularity from its proven results by customers. That's right, that's where you get addicted to the products and become a La Prairie-aholic :3. Oh well, at least that was my family's case anyways.
The company has been carrying Skin Caviar Luxe Cream and Extrait of Skin Caviar Firming Complex for many years, and they just added Skin Caviar Luxe Cream Sheer to the collection last year. To be honest, the result that you get from Skin Caviar Luxe Cream and their new Skin Caviar Luxe Cream Sheer is about the same, and the difference between those two is the texture.

Personally, I would say that Skin Caviar Luxe Cream Sheer comes close to a generic cream texture on the market, and it doesn't feel as heavy or thick as their legendary Skin Caviar Luxe Cream. That doesn't mean that it's light enough for oilier skin types.

By the way, I've been seeing quite a few people around me using Extrait of Skin Caviar Firming Complex incorrectly, so let me tell you the right way to use it. First of all, upon application, use gentle upward strokes, rather than massaging in, as it kind of forms a very fine film on top of the skin.

Extrait of Skin Caviar Firming Complex is a moisturiser and primer all-in-one product, meaning you have to put it at the very end of your regular skin care. Either you put it on after a serum or after a moisturiser, it works great as it seals in all the goodies. However, we all use a suncare product during day time whether by itself or under make-up. If you want to use your usual SPF product together with Extrait of Skin Caviar Firming Complex, then you should put the complex after your suncare routine, but before your make-up.
Regardless, I made a personal chart on those moisturisers based on years of experience from my family and myself. This table may or may not be different from what the company claims as it is very personally organised. I always suggest you visit a nearby La Prairie counter and take your time testing the products as different people have different tastes. Anyways, hope you find a right one for your skin :).
