Macrene Actives High Performance Face Serum has a very calming soothing scent without a presence of strong essential oil scent which I often get reactions from. The scent is safe for around the eyes and I never got any bad reaction from it. The scent is very subtle that you only get some soothing hue, which makes it even more suitable for sensitive skin.

To be honest, there isn't much difference between Macrene Actives High Performance Face Cream and Serum in terms of their textures. The serum certainly feels lighter than the cream, just more like an emulsion.
I would say that Macrene Actives High Performance Face Serum is on the nourishing side without being overly rich or greasy. The best part is that it still carries their signature fast penetration quality with no strong alcohol feel to the serum.

Thanks to the creamy emulsion consistency of Macrene Actives High Performance Face Serum, those with oily combination to normal skin could simply just use the serum as a serum and moisturiser in one product. You can also use it around the eye area, so Macrene Actives High Performance Face Serum truly functions as the one product that you need for your skin, which is great for skincare minimalist. Hence, it has been one of my go to products during my cycle and also in summer when I tend to put less products on my skin.
Having said that, Macrene Actives High Performance Face Serum may still be a bit too nourishing for active oily skin although the Serum doesn't feel greasy. Nevertheless, it is a gentle hydrating anti-aging serum that even works well for sensitive skin. I haven't seen much dramatic lifting or wrinkle reducing effect, but I have noticed that it's a great complementary product to any skincare routine including brightening regime. I would say that Macrene Actives High Performance Face Serum is more than just a serum as I personally consider it as a skin well-being supplement in the long term.
