Swiss Perfection Review > Cellular Purifying Active Lotion (Exfoliating treatment)

Published by Jasmine Seo

I've started using Swiss Perfection Cellular Purifying Active Lotion ever since La Prairie discontinued their spot treatment solution (which I loved) many years ago. Although the Swiss Perfection one didn't exactly say on the package that you can use it like a spot exfoliating solution for breakouts, that was what the Swiss Perfection counter manager suggested to me, and that was how I ended up getting it. Ever since then, I've used about a bottle (30mL) every year as I tend to normally get little bumps around my monthly. If you ask me if it truly works, my answer to that is "I'm not quite sure", which I will explain later in the post.

Scent

The scent of Cellular Purifying Active Lotion is quite fragranced, so if you get irritation from fragrance, then you might want to avoid using it. I'm usually fine with Swiss Perfection scents, but for some reason, perhaps because I mainly use it during my monthly, I just find the scent of Cellular Purifying Active Lotion a little bit too much. I will feel fine sometimes, then on some days, I would find it too sweet XD. Oh, dear! I can't do anything about my hormonal imbalance :3. Meaning, I also wouldn't recommend to those who are pregnant and/or having any scent sensitivity.

Consistency

When I first tested Cellular Purifying Active Lotion years ago, I was quite surprised. When I think of lotion, I picture a bit runny and quite liquidy emulsion type consistency. However, Cellular Purifying Active Lotion didn't really match that.

It has a rather creamy texture, which feels a bit more heavy than most skincare products designed for oily/problem prone skin types.

Unlike the look of it, the lotion is actually very easy to spread and leaves no oily residue behind surprisingly.

I wouldn't say that it feels particularly neat or matte as it feels rather quite hydrating and there's a slight tingling sensation.

Benefits

Cellular Active Lotion is a specialized face care designed to purify the skin and promote tissue repair. It contains Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid and Citric Acid to boost the exfoliation process thus helping remove dead cells whilst improving superficial cells growth, unclogging pores and smoothing away blemishes. The skin becomes pure, soft and smooth.

Verdict

To be honest, I've noticed that Cellular Purifying Active Lotion acts more like a mild exfoliating treatment rather than a spot treatment solution that you get over the counter. Though, I would say that it seems to heal skin a lot faster on a popped pimple. The lotion is very convenient especially on the nights that I don't feel like spending time in front of my magnifying Simplehuman mirror, which includes my cycle. As you can see, I just don't use it when I get breakouts, but more when I want to minimise my skincare routine.

The bottom line is though, this bottle costs 215 Swiss Francs and doesn't bring any dramatic change to skin. However, I like to use it because it doesn't irritate and dry out my dehydrated skin whereas some of quite known products on the market have given me redness, itch and permanently enlarged pores :(. So I've been keeping Cellular Purifying Active Lotion in my emergency lazy night stash despite its price. If you don't bother doing deep cleansing and peels on your skin, then it might be worth checking it out, otherwise, I think that you can always achieve similar results with deep cleansing and resurfacing treatments at a third of the price or even lower. Meaning, Swiss Perfection Cellular Purifying Active Lotion can come exorbitant to majority of their users due to its simple function and eye-watering price for the amount that you get. If you don't mind an overpowering scent, you may also be interested in checking out Chanel Le Weekend de Chanel as it's pretty similar yet relatively more on the affordable side.
