Whenever I've visited Swiss Perfection counter and/or spa back in Korea, there's always one product that the associates always like to recommend, either as an add-on to the purchase or as an introductory product to the brand, which is their Soothing Facial Lotion. Although they suggest you to use in between your serum and cream step, I've always regarded it as a moisturiser and never really saw the point of layering as it could only make sensitive skin even more sensitive or reactive if that's the main reason why the product has been recommended.
Scent
Since the beginning, I thought the name Soothing Facial Lotion has been quite misleading in some degree especially when I'm very well aware of the fact that Swiss Perfection likes to add lots of fragrance in their products including phenoxyethanol and other fragrancing ingredients. Swiss Perfection Soothing Facial Lotion isn't an exception to it either in terms of fragrance content, but the scent is pretty much undetectable as there's only slight hue, which almost made me believe that it was scent-free.
Consistency
Swiss Perfection Soothing Facial Lotion has a serumulsion-like texture, which looks like a lightweight emulsion yet absorbs into skin very quick like a serum.
As it's in a runny gel emulsion consistency, you only need a very small amount to cover your entire face and neck. It spreads and goes onto skin silky smooth so my finger tips simply glide.
Once it's fully penetrated into skin, there's a subtle hydration and comfort that you can feel despite its lightweight texture.
It has a beautiful velvety smooth barely-there finish with a glow that even men would enjoy using.
Benefits
Highly oxygenating, hydrates, soothes and repairs the skin. Quickly absorbed, leaves the skin evened out, softer and refreshed.
Apply every morning and/or evening with gentle upward movements.

Verdict
Swiss Perfection Soothing Facial Lotion is lightweight yet still hydrating enough for my dehydrated unbalanced skin especially when I'm near my monthly or overloaded with stress, and that was the main reason why I used to use it more often when I was back in Australia. I would say that the weightless texture indeed made my skincare ritual more enjoyable as the weather in Australia can get very hot and humid that there were moments in my youth where I simply didn't bother putting anything on my face.
It's strange but despite its high fragrance content, I've always found the emulsion being quite soothing as I've kept forgetting about the fact that it isn't free of fragrance :3. I wouldn't say that it effectively calms down sun burned or very much sensitised skin, but it seems to prevent further irritations that your skin may get from unbalance caused by pollution, seasonal changes and dehydration to name a few.
I'm not sure about Swiss Perfection Soothing Facial Lotion's oxygenating benefits after years of trial, but I see the emulsion acting more like a Swiss Perfection version of a skin supplement cocktail as my skin looks brighter and more alive upon wake-up. The ingredients may not seem very gentle for sensitive or problem-prone skin types, but the product by itself seems to be working well in synergy with their other products. The bottom line is though, your skin may not experience that much improvement with Soothing Facial Lotion alone, even if you have sensitive skin. It may help maintain your youthful skin when used alone, and enhance the overall efficacy of other skincare products that you may be using together if you like to layer.
Even though Swiss Perfection Soothing Facial Lotion may not quench dry sensitive skin enough by itself, it still remains as one of their most popular and best standard moisturisers that has been sold steadily in spite of its high price (CHF 225/ 30mL). If you are exposed to dry air constantly by any chance, I suggest you to add a few drops of face oil into the emulsion, which will give your skin a more protective barrier, along with a beautiful glow.
