We all are exposed to pollution and micro dust from driving, walking, cooking, vaccuming and so on. Certainly they are not good for our health in the long run when it's accumulated, but it's also terrible for our skin, sensitising it even more. Yep, it's not just the sun that we need to worry about :/. And especially in Northeast Asia and some of the big cities in Europe like Paris and London, there have been lots of on-going issues regarding health and skin with micro and yellow dust. Using micro dust masks has somewhat become a norm quickly in Asia, and even skin care companies have started working on anti-pollution products as there are a growing number of people seeking dermatologists for their skin sensitivity. Of course, as you might already know, South Korea is obsessed with their religious skin care regime, and micro and yellow dust is indeed their enemy :P. A few years ago, Laneige brought out their solution for those: All Day Anti-Pollution Defensor SPF 30 and Anti-Pollution Mask
Texture & Scent
To be honest, I smell some chemical sunscreen, but it smells neither good or bad. I don't know, it feels a little strange (in a positive way) for me that All Day Anti-Pollution Defensor SPF 30 doesn't have any floral scent to it as it's from Laneige. Regardless, it's in a dense emulsion texture. I say dense here, because that's how it feels after contact with skin when it's fully absorbed.
Laneige All Day Anti-Pollution Defensor SPF 30 strengthens the barrier of skin and uses its own Dust Block™ technology to protect skin from pollution including micro dust. Dust Block™ technology is basically inspired by how magnets work, and uses a negative electric charge. All Day Anti-Pollution Defensor SPF 30 repels micro dust or anything similar that also has the negative electric charge. On top of that, it also has built-in SPF protection.
It spreads and sinks in very easily, so you only need 1-2 pumps to cover your entire face and neck. I even dab some under my eye area not too close to the eye lashes, and it has been working great without making me cry :P.
Never underestimate the hydration power of All Day Anti-Pollution Defensor SPF 30 ;). Unless you have extremely dry and flaky skin, it will be enough to hydrate most of the skin types. It makes skin feel supple and look glowy. It's quite interesting because it certainly makes skin feel hydrated, but there's a slight mattifying feel to it without being matte O_O. Having said that, I still wouldn't recommend it to very oily and acne prone skin types as it can be too hydrating and it doesn't seem to control any oil anyways. For dehydrated combination skin types, just using it by itself will be even fine enough for this summer.
It almost feels like it's creating some kind of invisible veil without masking skin. The formula indeed really fascinates me XD. Thanks to that, it doesn't disturb any CC cushions/creams/foundation put on the top. And I've been enjoying it a lot with La Prairie Transforming Cream and Laneige/ Amore Pacific CC Cushion & Sun Cushion. I even put a mineral sunscreen on top a few hours later and it didn't rub off.
Here's a tip: If you get oily in certain areas in your face, then I recommend you to blot off those areas first if you want to put any other sunscreens on top a few hours after using All Day Anti-Pollution Defensor SPF 30.
So I have been using All Day Anti-Pollution Defensor SPF 30 in dusty dog parks and in South Korea when there was heavy yellow and micro since the product launch. I even tested it by walking along the busy roads. Let me tell you, I was quite skeptical about their claim, but wow, it seems that it has been working well. I didn't get any breakouts or any skin sensitivity throughout my trip in heavy dust while the majority of family members were getting problems with their skin XD. Yep, it's always better to be guarded! If you are visiting or even living in Northeast Asia including China, Korea and Japan, I highly recommend you to use Laneige All Day Anti-Pollution Defensor SPF 30 for a daily basis.
I'm not sure about you, but my skin gets quite dry and imbalanced after coming back from dog parks for a few hours. And that always causes me to get itchy skin, especially around my face and neck as they are the areas that I don't cover much other than wearing a hat. But surprise surprise! My skin got less sensitive since I started putting on Laneige All Day Anti-Pollution Defensor SPF 30 :O. Well, I didn't expected that, but there you go. If you go out with your dogs to the park often and spend lots of time with them, you should certainly try it out!
