My man and I decided to try Vivo 53 for dinner since it had so many positive comments on Yelp.
We ordered Roasted Clams (lemon, butter, garlic, red chilies, fresh herbs, crostini), Formaggio di Capra (goat cheese, crispy prosciutto, caramelized onions,
fresh thyme) and Vivo True Fettuccine (fettuccine truffle bolognese, white truffle oil).
The clams were okay, they didn’t stink, and the sauce went well with the texture and the flavour of them. I thought that it could’ve been better if they just toasted rather than boiling the clams.
To be honest, I wasn’t a much fan of their crust and the prosciutto on top. I think the prosciutto just gave a great texture on the pizza, but nothing more. It didn’t taste that special compared to their onions and cheese.
However, the pasta was simply awesome. It wasn’t the most classical taste, but it was a great twist on the generic bolognese flavour. The beef flavour wasn’t overpowering, yet it was blended in well with the texture and other ingredients, which was quite pleasant considering I never really enjoyed bolognese much in most of Italian restaurants.
