I thought that I would share an oil-free bio cellulose hydrating mask (aka gel mask) with you as I just finally discovered a mess-free sheet mask that I could use during my PMS when my skin tends to be imbalanced. AmorePacific Moisture Bound Intensive Serum Masque is great for anyone who loves a neat finish without making any mess or even those who like to do some multi-tasking while the mask is on your face.
Step 1: Ampoule
The lightweight watery gel serum penetrates into skin very fast. It smells exactly like their Moisture Bound range, which is light floral. At first you might think that the scent is quite strong if you're more used to essential oil or rosy scents, but it's nowhere near as strong and potent as some of the high-end skincare brands such as Chanel. The fragrance is located on the very bottom of the ingredient list, which is the case for the most of the Amore Pacific products (ie. lowest percentage of scent).
And here is how I use the ampoule;
- Layered 14 times
- Cooling
- As you layer, there's a pleasant firming sensation.
- On the first application, it feels like almost nothing, but as you start layering, it starts to hydrate skin. The finish of it is quite similar to Sisley Express Flower Gel Hydrating Mask, which isn't overly sticky at all.
Step 2: Mask
I was surprised, because after putting the mask on my face, there was still quite a generous amount of serum in the packet. I certainly didn't expect it as they've already included an ampoule. Regardless, I dabbed the leftover serum on the areas that tend to dry fast such as cheek, hairline and jawline.
The mask feels cooling onto skin due to the nature of bio cellulose mask without even being fridged, but I kept in the fridge 10 minutes before I used it since I wanted extra cooling sensation😁.
The Mask by itself fits to skin perfectly without letting air get in, and the best part is that it doesn't slide or move around. Meaning, it will work great for those who want to do some work while the mask is getting ready.
I left the mask on for about 15 minutes before taking it off. The mask felt a bit drier on the surface and it felt thin down.
Nevertheless, skin felt velvety smooth without feeling too heavy. I could literally put make-up on top and step out the door. It was that neat. There's no downtime to get it fully absorbed unlike other masks, which is one of the best features.
I would just get away without any moisturiser on top if it was summer, but I followed with a few drops of face oil to seal all the goodies in😎.

Verdict
It is certain that AmorePacific Moisture Bound Intensive Serum Masque is great for hot and humid weather, and it's the most neat luxury skincare brand sheet mask that I've ever used. It doesn't make any mess, yet adheres to skin very well and it doesn't move around so you don't need to worry about fixing it while waiting.
Depending on how dehydrated your skin is, I think that you can even keep the ampoule in the fridge and separate the applications up to a few times. I suggest you to use it all within 24 hours for its freshness if you decide to do so though. I wouldn't say that it's a dupe version of Sisley Express Flower Gel Mask, but AmorePacific Moisture Bound Intensive Serum Masque is a great alternative if you are more of a sheet mask person who prefers this sheet mask type. Whether you are into K-beauty (aka Korean beauty) or not, I think this mess-free mask will work well even for frequent travellers and those with younger skin that tends to get easily oily from skin hydration imbalance.
