I have frequently been using Chanel Le Blanc range for many years and my mum got their new Le Blanc Cheek Mask for me as she's well aware of the fact that I have more of a focus on brightening skincare in my routine routine, especially when UV index tends to be higher. And I was very much intrigued by Chanel's trendy move in their range as Korea has brought a massive boom into Western beauty culture with different types of sheet masks. Perhaps, it makes sense that the company has come up with their first ever sheet mask (although it's still just for local usage) as I find that their Le Blanc collection seems to be more popular in Asia due to the generally different focus in beauty regimes.
Nevertheless, I have been enjoying Chanel Le Blanc Brightening Cheek Masks since last Summer, so I thought that I should share my experience with you as you can still order online from Asia if you are interested.
Scent & Consistency
If you have been put off by Chanel's usual strong artificial scent, then you might like those cheek masks. There's a very slight floral hue, but I recognise almost no scent, which is very unusual for Chanel. I'm sensitive to smell in general, but I didn't get any irritation around my eye area. This is certainly a positive change indeed.
The texture is also very positive especially for hot and humid climates. The mask has a fresh runny watery gel texture, which is the lightest weight serum/concentrate in their entire skincare range. There's no strong alcohol feel or smell, which is another added bonus.
It spreads very easily and the essence covers the entire face, neck, hands and even arms! That is pretty good coverage, hey. I certainly didn't expect this part, but it has been working great as my hands and arms have been constantly exposed to the sun in Summer. And the best part is that my skin doesn't feel sticky upon application. It take a few minutes for the essence to be fully absorbed into skin and it only leaves nice healthy glow with subtle hydration.
Benefits
Working in synergy with the Concentrate, the Cheek Mask boosts boosts the brightness by an additional +22%* in just 5 minutes. Its formula invigorates the skin with a healthy, radiant glow for a complexion that is brighter, more translucent with plumped cheeks that impart a perfect rosy-hue. Skin’s luminosity is immediately improved by 51%**.

Specially produced for CHANEL, 2-Year pearl extract is derived from Akoya pearls that are carefully matured for an optimal 2-year period. The extract from these rare pearls effectively prevents protein oxidation on the skin surface for a brighter complexion with light-reflecting translucency. It also contains a high concentration of glycine, a main component of the skin's natural moisturizing factor, which delivers optimal hydration. Luminous and moisturized, the skin reveals pearl-like radiance day after day.
Sharing a similar molecular structure, unique pink berry oil works in affinity with Concentrate's TXC™ molecule for enhanced penetration. It stimulates micro-circulation in the skin to impart an immediate delicate rose-colored blush to the cheeks.
How to Use
Designed to work in synergy, apply Cheek Mask after Concentrate for optimal brightening efficacy. Firmly press the fingertips on the lower chamber of the sachet until the seal breaks and the formula releases into the top chamber. An immediate effervescent effect occurs as the formula comes into contact with the masks. Once the masks are completely saturated, remove them from the sachet. Remove and apply the masks, one for each cheek, below the eye and keep in place for 5 minutes. Remove the masks and blend in remaining bulk if necessary. Use 2-3 times a week and before any special occasion.
Effectiveness
Although I didn't see much improvement in reduction in the number of sun spots, I have noticed that it works brilliant for healing post-PMS scars. It does instantly deliver that nice healthy glow to skin in 5 minutes even though I didn't see my cheeks turning particularly rosy XD. Anyway, glow without any sticky residue is important for me especially when the weather goesabove 30°C. Unlike their other serums, there's no cooling sensation (aka high alcohol percentage), Chanel Le Blanc Cheek Mask still feels fresh and light, and it also offers enough hydration for Spring and Summer especially for those living in hot and humid countries. It will also work well with oily/combination skin as long as your focus isn't in mattifying and controlling sebum production.
As I mentioned earlier, the mask contains enough essence that I have been layering the leftover essence on the concerned areas (around the eyes and mouth) and literally all over the face. Yes, it's a cheek mask, but the essence covers face, neck, decolletage, hands and arms, so you can get the full ritual basically. The size of the cheek mask is also big, so it covers from under your eyes to even the smile line areas including entire cheeks. It feels more like an eye and cheek mask to me if we only consider the size of it :3. The interesting part is though, there's a pleasant firming sensation when I layer with the leftover essence all over my face and it doesn't peel off unless you rub/massage it in too much when applying your moisturiser.
As you might have already noticed, the mask is very convenient when travelling or even staying over at friend's place overnight. It doesn't make you look ridiculous or wet, so I haven't had any problems using those masks around people >_<. The cheek mask by itself is very thin, so it fits along the cheek bones very well and stays on! Yes, it stays put very well that I enjoy doing so stretching and doing other usual activities.
Whether you are a person who's looking for quick 5 minute treatment mask as a make-up base or fresh skincare for Summer, I think that Chanel Le Blanc Cheek Mask will work well on most skin types :). If you have very dehydrated skin like mine, then I also recommend you to pair it with their new Hydra Beauty Micro Creme as they work well in synergy.
