Chantecaille Detox Clay Mask has always been one of my favourites in their skincare range, and it's also one of my most loved and most used over the recent years. I've been particularly enjoying gentle clay masks since my skin isn't active or that oily any more, compared to how it used to be. Now that I've tried different masks on the market, I wouldn't call Chantecaille Detox Clay Mask the most gentle on skin as I've found even more gentle ones like Kahina Giving Beauty Antioxidant Mask that I also like to use on a frequent basis.
Scent & Consistency
You can never go wrong with soothing Chantecaille skincare scents, and the clay mask isn't an exception either. There's a slight floral sweet hue to the mask that makes the mask ritual very pleasant and therapeutic. I would say that the scent of the mask is indeed at the top of the luxury skincare mask group. Chantecaille Detox Clay Mask is in a dense creamy texture, which doesn't feel rich or heavy. It goes on very smooth that a small amount goes a long way, so one jar of the mask tend to last long as I use sparingly.
There's only comfort without any tightening feel in skin during and after the mask application. As I've been through many jars of those, I've found that using a warm wash cloth is the best way to take off the mask. It also leaves grey-ish stains on the cloth, so you would want to dark coloured one for taking off the mask. Skin simply glows without any dryness and my overnight masks seem to work better when I use the Chantecaille clay mask beforehand.

Verdict
Chantecaille Detox Clay Mask is a great one to use even for a few times a week as it feels a lot more gentle than the harsh drying ones still sold on the market. Whether you live in a hot or cold country, the mask will work great equally as it won't dry out skin much but rather leave skin feeling smooth and comfortable. It will be certainly great for those with combination to dry/mature skin, but if you have sensitive skin, you may want to try a sample first. If your skin is sensitive to certain essential oils and PEGs, the mask won't be the best for you. If that's the case, I'd rather suggest you to try African Botanics Mineral Cleansing Mask or Kahina Giving Beauty Antioxidant Mask instead as they are ultra gentle and light.
In terms of deep cleansing, the mask isn't that strong, so it won't get rid of blackheads. I personally think that it's something that you need to focus on during the face washing stage, not during the mask stage for better efficacy anyways. Detox-wise, I cannot look into my cell activity, but it does seem to detoxify and somewhat control sebum production in my skin pretty well as it has been greatly helping to keep any unwanted breakouts at bay from my skin especially during Summer when I re-apply 5+ times a day. If you want to try a clay mask amongst different luxury skincare brands, I think that Chantecaille Detox Clay Mask is a nice one to start.
