Review > La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream & Lotion VS Omorovicza Illuminating Moisturiser

Published by Jasmine Seo

I have been using La Mer and Omorovicza products for long time, and I can tell you my overall thoughts on a couple of their popular moisturisers today; La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream, Soft Lotion and Omorovicza Illuminating Moisturiser. Due to the nature of this post, please refer to their individual reviews that I previously wrote if you want to read more about them and/or need to see photos.

DNA IV

Scent & Consistency

All of those moisturisers smells sophisticated, but I would say that the La Mer ones smell more soothing and calming, whereas the scent of Omorovicza is floral and feminine, which feels very delicate and elegant. The consistency and finish of Omorovicza Illuminating Moisturiser comes right in between La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Lotion and La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream, but I would say that the Omorovicza one has a bit of more density.

Verdict

They all feel smooth, absorb fast into skin and bring an instant glow to skin upon application. If you want to achieve that expensive looking skin glow without any glitters immediately upon application, I suggest you to try Omorovicza Illuminating Moisturiser as it gives a "just left the spa" appearance.

By the way, a little amount goes a long way, and all these moisturisers will last long unless you have a tendency to slather, which is my case 😁. As for the facial massage, you will need to add some face oil to La Mer ones, but you may or may not need to add one to Omorovicza Illuminating Moisturiser. I use about double the amount with Omorovicza, and it just glides onto my skin beautifully for about 3+ minutes, which is enough for me. It feels very indulgent and luxurious, and that's one of the reasons why I keep coming back to Omorovicza Illuminating Moisturiser.

In addition, I really love the fact that all those 3 moisturisers can be quite versatile as you can make your own tinted moisturiser by adding a drop of foundation as well. If you like to put several layers of moisturisers onto skin (ie. buildable hydration), I noticed that La Mer ones tend to work better even for mixing with face oil.

In terms of overall efficacy, La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Lotion and La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream provide better skin regeneration and healing benefits than Omorovicza Illuminating Moisturiser. Pimple scars heal faster with La Mer moisturisers and they also seem to complement a lifting and brightening skincare regime well. The Omorovicza one feels more like a skin flattering moisturiser with good hydration longevity, which feels to be more ideal for the daytime under make-up and evening outs.
