My long loved Guerlain Orchidée Impériale original cream comes in new sleek packaging! :D It's the newly improved 4th generation, and I'm not sure if you can tell the difference with the case, but it's more compact and has a nice silhouette to it. Haha, now I sound like I'm feeling the actual case of the cream, but trust me, I do love the shape indeed. It feels more chic and classy than the old version.

Consistency & Application
Compared to other similarly priced prestigious anti-aging creams from other luxury skincare brands, Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Cream doesn't feel and look as rich and heavy.
I would say that it's slightly more dense than average generic creams on the market, which to me works as a positive indicator as it makes it more accessible to different skin types not just solely bound to very dry mature skin.
It spreads very easily and goes on soft. It definitely has that luxurious feel to the texture as my fingers just glide on, so I always like to add a mini facial massage for a minute or two.
The cream works great for a quick massage since it turns into an oil infused massage cream once you start massaging into skin. And you could amplify the richness by adding more if you want to enjoy the ritual a bit longer. However, I don't normally add more as it's expensive to use just for a massaging purpose XD. Now, you might be guessing, "Uh oh, won't it be too heavy?". The answer to that is "No". It doesn't feel heavy, but feels rather nurturing. Skin may feel a bit oily temporarily, but once it's fully absorbed into skin, it just leaves skin velvety soft and smooth to touch. The best part is that the diamond powder gives such a beautiful healthy glow to skin.
A floral scent with hints of orchid that blend with notes of rose, white musk and precious cedar wood
For 15 years, Guerlain Research has been pushing back the frontiers of cellular longevity. Now it has identified a new mechanism that plays a key role in longevity: cellular respiration. More effective thanks to the discovery of the extraordinary powers of a duo of orchids, new Cell Respiration™ technology delivers superior efficacy inside the skin. It regulates cellular respiration and combats hypoxia* or oxygen deficiency, a phenomenon that increases with age. The cells can breathe again and maximise energy production which boosts cell regeneration*. All the visible signs of ageing are minimised: wrinkles and fine lines fade, the skin regains firmness, density and elasticity, the complexion is even and more radiant. The skin is infused with a new breath of life.

I must mention that the Orchidee Imperiale Cream version isn't ideally designed for oily/combination skin types. As it contains beeswax and other emollients, it's better for those with dehydrated normal to dry skin (preferably for skin age 30+). If you are pregnant/nursing or just sensitive to fragrance, then the cream won't be the best for you as it's also high in phenoxyethanol. It has an artificial mature floral scent although I personally think that it's very pleasant and doesn't come as near as Chanel ones. It also contains centella asiatica leaf extract (aka gotu kola), which is good for healing skin, that you might also want to avoid if you are pregnant/nursing. I'm just mentioning all those as I've found Guerlain Orchidee Imperial Cream to be effective since I was a teenager. However, it's really up to one's decision as it's still controversial in the field on the relation between pregnancy/nursing and over-the-counter cosmetic products.
Nevertheless, the cream works indeed excellent for those who needs extra care for lipid layers of their skin along with a skin regeneration boost. My grandmother at age 85+ has been using the cream since the very first launch and she has been loving it for many years. And I must say that her skin looks fabulous without any cosmetic procedures considering her age and lifestyle. She's a make-up lover and she likes to use it as a make-up base and also as a lightweight massage cream during the daytime. She goes through the jar very fast as she uses it very generously unlike myself :P. The cream was also a saviour for my older sister's two post-pregnancy skin, again without any dermatologist's help.
I wouldn't say that the cream works magically, but it certainly brings noticeable subtle results. Skin feels and looks firmer and somewhat plumper. I've always used the cream even during my period (except during hot and humid Summer) in spite of its nurturing texture. It hasn't given me any breakouts over the past years, and even better, it rather helps healing spots somehow. I also noticed that it prevents dullness in my skin even during that time of the month. Guerlain skincare isn't chemical and fragrance free, but their Orchidee Imperiale Cream is highly recommended.
