African Botanics Review > Rose Treatment Essence

Published by Jasmine Seo

I've been using African Botanics Rose Treatment Essence as a topical nutritional supplement for my skin day and night, and it indeed has become one of my go-to boosting essences.

Scent & Consistency

African Botanics Rose Treatment Essence has an interesting water infused bouncy light gel texture.

It isn't runny, but once it's in contact with skin, it almost turns into a watery essence that feels refreshing.

The absorption into skin is fast, so you will need to quickly sweep all over your face before patting it in. There's no harsh alcohol feel to skin upon application, and it has a quite nice neat finish. It doesn't feel tight or matte, but I noticed that there's a slight firming sensation to a certain extent.

In addition, African Botanics Rose Treatment Essence is heavenly rose scented, which I appreciate as I often struggle with most of the rose scented products in general. The scent is quite subtle that it doesn't overwhelm your senses. I would describe it as a delicate rose hue that feels sophisticated and soothing. It's one of the rare boosting essence that I actually look forward to use upon washing my face😃.

Benefits

Rose Treatment Essence is a unique multi-functional treatment gel that melts into a toning hydrating liquid upon application.

Designed for all skin complexions, this intensely concentrated formula helps detoxify cells, tighten pores and restore moisture levels while brightening, refining, hydrating and rebalancing skin's pH levels.

The powerful combination of bioactive medicinal plants, hydrating botanical emollients, peptides, humectants, B vitamins, oligosaccharides, yeast beta-glucan and collagen boosters deliver vitality and nutrients deep into the skin.

Infused with pure Rose Flower Water and a refreshingly light CO2 extract of Rosa Centifolia to help retain moisture, brighten and even out skin tone while reducing redness and inflammation.

Key Active Benefits

  • Floral extracts, fermented Yeast extract, Niacinamide, Green Coffee and caffeine gently brighten and improve skin tone and texture.
  • Minimizes redness and reduces irritation.
  • Plant humectants and Hyaluronic acid, boost skin with a dose of nourishment.

Application

Apply daily AM / PM to face, neck and décolletage after cleansing before serum/oil in upward and outward strokes with your fingertips or a cotton pad. Pat remaining product into skin until fully absorbed.

Verdict

African Botanics Rose Treatment Essence makes a perfect serum for oily and oily combination skin as it has a lightweight and non-oily texture. Without any overly mattifying finish, it gives skin a "barely there" finish that those living in hot and humid climate should appreciate.

Although it doesn't provide robust hydration as expected from the nature of the product category, I would still say that it's good for all skin types as a boosting essence. I've been using a hydrating serum over African Botanics Rose Treatment Essence, and I haven't been getting my usual PMS breakouts for few months now ever since.

I'm honestly not sure about pore minimising benefits, but it does seem to keep my skin clear, balanced, and increase the overall efficacy of volumising/firming/hydrating skincare products that I frequently use. If you are shopping for an all year rounder, I suggest you to check African Botanics Rose Treatment Essence for well-being of your skin😊.
