The weather here in WA has gotten a lot warmer so I have been using lightweight moisturisers during the daytime. My skin doesn't usually get oily, so I've been sticking with emulsion/fluid type moisturisers mostly rather than gel textured ones. Initially when I was buying Chanel Hydra Beauty Camellia Water Cream, I assumed that it will be more like a bouncy gel consistency cream with plenty of alchol feel to skin. However, I was completely wrong!
Scent & Consistency
The texture of Chanel Hydra Beauty Camellia Water Cream is more like a lightweight emulsion rather than a gel.
Unlike the traditional fluid consistency which tends to leave greasy veil feel to skin, Hydra Beauty Camellia Water Cream doesn't carry much of the downside of the emulsion. It doesn't mean that it feels light as air and leaves nothing like water by any means.
Scent-wise, the fluid is quite perfumed just like other Chanel Hydra Beauty products, which smells of very peachy floral. I'm very much used to their scents in general, but if you are new to Chanel, then you may find the scent a bit overwhelming at first. Having said that, the scent doesn't linger onto skin long, and I haven't gotten any breakouts from it.
Featuring a lightweight fluid texture, this refreshing face moisturizer is drenched in Camellia Water to intensely hydrate skin. The illuminating formula leaves the complexion prepped for makeup with a glowing, even-toned appearance.
HYDRA BEAUTY CAMELLIA WATER CREAM combines Camellia AlbaPFA* — a powerful extract that helps skin maintain optimal moisture levels —with Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamins C and E and Blue Ginger PFA* for a complexion that appears refined, replenished, radiant and plump.
*PFA: PolyFractioned Active. An ultra-pure, ultra-powerful ingredient created through exclusive patented CHANEL technology.
How to apply
Apply every morning after HYDRA BEAUTY MICRO SÉRUM, smoothing from the center of the face outward.
Although Chanel Hydra Beauty Camellia Water Cream has been advertised as lightweight and fast absorbing, it still gives enough hydration for warmer months. Additionally, it does prep skin for make-up as it instantly gives a glow and luminosity. The fluid imparts tiny fine illuminating particles if you look up close, but it's imperceivable, which almost acts like a glow from within.
I personally really appreciate that part as I often go out in my bare face, and Chanel Hydra Beauty Camellia Water Cream does enhance the look of my skin. Even better I could dab some around the high points of my face such as my cheek bones, cupid bow etc to give extra subtle highlights without overdoing it.
I would say that Chanel Hydra Beauty Camellia Water Cream is best for those with Normal/Combination skin for mostly daytime usage, but I can also see that you could add a drop or two of face oil to the emulsion if you have dry skin and are willing to try it out during Summer. Even better, it comes in a pump bottle that you can pack safely in your carry-on bag for your upcoming holidays or even business trips. If you are all in for beautifying the look of skin along with hydration and versatility, I recommend you to try out Chanel Hydra Beauty Camellia Water Cream.
