Swiss Perfection Review > RS-28 Cellular Rejuvenation Serum (World's most expensive hydrating serum)

Published by Jasmine Seo

RS-28 Cellular Rejuvenation Serum has been Swiss Perfection's best selling face serum and it's known to be a miracle worker within the group of Swiss Perfection fans. Because of that, many people actually start off Swiss Perfection skincare with it like how many people try one of the La Mer moisturisers first before entering their skincare regime.

Despite its hype, RS-28 Cellular Rejuvenation Serum wasn't my first Swiss Perfection Serum to be honest XD. I started using their Cellular Perfect Lift Serum first way before trying out their well-known RS-28 Cellular Rejuvenation Serum. I don't know why, but I guess my key focus has mostly been on de-puffying my skin as I didn't have that much of a dehydration issue back then anyways :3. Nevertheless, I've always been given quite generous amount of samples whenever I purchased their skincare products, so I've been using the serum mainly during the transition from Spring to Summer over the past 5 years or so. Anyway, here are my thoughts on their most popular RS-28 Cellular Rejuvenation Serum.

Scent & Consistency

There's no particular recognisable scent, but it smells a bit fermented (not in a negative way). It's very hard to describe exactly because it doesn't a very strong scent although it does contain artificial fragrance.

Texture-wise, RS-28 Cellular Rejuvenation Serum is a runny thin light gel serum. It's very light that it almost instantly absorbs into skin.

There's no oily residue but the finish of it is glowy yet a little sticky actually. If you put a small amount, then it won't be a big issue, but if you like to build it up, then it will just get stickier although it will be less once it's fully absorbed.

It spreads very well, but I wouldn't say that you need a small amount if you are really using it as a hydrating serum. It's very buildable, so I find that I tend to use a lot more than those hydrating serums from other luxury skincare brands.

Effectiveness

Swiss Perfection RS-28 Cellular Rejuvenation Serum is supposed to help with 28 day cell turnover cycle and relieve any dehydration or discomfort issues. I can see how the serum helps with balancing skin by charging hydration, but I've always been finding it to not be enough for colder seasons. In spite of its very lightweight texture and fast absorption, it doesn't feel that deeply hydrating personally. It isn't superficial, but it hasn't been that quenching for my dehydrated normal skin especially when the weather gets dry. I would say that the hydration level is quite similar to in between La Mer The Regenerating Serum and Estée Lauder Re-Nutriv Ultimate Lift Floralixir™ Dew Regenerating Water although I think RS-28 Cellular Rejuvenation Serum has a more dewy finish with a bit of plumped look upon application.

Nevertheless, the serum will work better for those with oily combination skin and also those people living in a very hot and humid weather condition. I wouldn't particularly say that the serum is gentle, but at least I've never got any breakouts from it, which is why I never needed to stop using it even during my cycle. Swiss Perfection RS-28 Cellular Rejuvenation Serum gives skin a born this way glow, so if you are someone who loves uber lightweight hydrating serum with a fool-proof glow from within, then RS-28 Cellular Rejuvenation Serum is the one. However, there are a couple of things that you might want to consider before paying for a big price (CHF 320) as it's the most expensive hydrating serum on earth after all.

  1. Do you like the very light texture with a bit of firming sensation?

  2. Does your skin needs a bit of help to balance skin cell turnover cycle?

  1. Do you need an intense hydration to soothe your skin?

  2. Do you want a glowy finish with deep hydration?

To be honest, I wouldn't call RS-28 Cellular Rejuvenation Serum my holy grail serum as I've found that there are other serums that I could replace it with. The product by itself seems to deliver its promises as my skin's texture has improved, and is balanced and overall youthful looking, but I still find it quite overpriced just for those. Perhaps over a decade of experience with luxury skincare has made my expectations even higher? Not sure, however, I can also sort of see why the serum has become the brand's iconic product. I still think that there's no other high-tech luxury hydrating serum like Swiss Perfection RS-28 Cellular Rejuvenation Serum on the market that effectively promotes skin renewal, balances skin and brings a youthful glow back that everyone desires, even to those with oily combination skin, without any heavy residue.
