Plato Pet Treats Review > Natural Salmon & Organic Chicken Strips (Dog Training / Kong Treats)

Published by Jasmine Seo

I remember the time when our border collie Yuna first arrived about 2 years ago, I spent a few hours on Amazon checking and comparing all the ingredients of dog treats for a puppy. It wasn't just about the products, but also about the brand too. I also went through the brands with their products to see their general philosophy behind the dog treats that they make. I know that some people might think that what I did was beyond average, but I'm one of those people who want to provide quality products for our family dogs' well-being. After all, we are family, right? :). While looking up on Amazon, I had to cross out major big companies as they didn't seem that reliable. And I found a gem after hours of searching! Plato Natural Strips come in different flavours including Salmon, Chicken and Duck to name a few.

  • Natural source of Omega-3 & 6 fatty acids (Salmon Strips)

Quality

We haven't tried Duck Strips yet, but Yuna and Yena have been having both Salmon and Chicken ever since they joined our family <3. If you ask me which flavour they love the most, then it would be the Salmon Strips. It's actually quite smelly as you could probably expect from the name, so if you want a less smelly one, then Chicken Strips are better for you :).

I've also noticed that Salmon Strips are much darker in colour and a bit more moist and softer than the Chicken ones which are relatively dry. Regardless, Yuna and Yena have gone through many packs, and the strips have all been in pretty good shape. Along with the superb quality, the strips are pretty dense, so they are not one of those lightweight dog treats.

Usage

As our babies favourite one has been Salmon Strips, we've mainly been getting that flavour. They are special treats that my man and I have been giving them while training. If not, they've been getting the strips daily in the morning more as an omega 3 & 6 health supplement. And I think that it really helped a lot with their learning speed and brain function. On top of that, we've been getting lots of complements on how shiny their coat is whenever we take Yuna and Yena out for a walk. So I believe that the Salmon Strips contributed to that to a certain extent :). And of course, I get very happy when I hear that as a border collie mum ;).

By the way, if you are thinking of using as part of your training treats, I suggest you to break the strip into a few pieces as it can be a bit expensive if you train a lot during the day :P. Additionally, it has over 90% salmon, so you probably want to go easy on giving the strips to your dog. Because of that, you would be better off mixing it with other treats or dog food when using them for training and saving the salmon for when they do something really impressive. We've been also using them inside our Kongs when we leave our Yuna and Yena alone at home, which has been working great. I will make a post about how I use the strips for Kong soon :).

Made in the USA

We make every bag of our Natural Salmon Strips Dog Treats in the heart of one of the world’s largest agriculture areas in California’s San Joaquin Valley.

Quality

We love our pets and we want them to have the quality, safe treats they deserve to keep their tails wagging. That’s why our Natural Salmon Strips are made in our own USDA and third-party inspected facility and employ a team of full-time Quality Control Supervisors to ensure that our treats are always made to the highest quality and food safety standards.

Only the best natural ingredients

We have developed our treats around an abundant local supply of natural and organic meat, fruit, and vegetable ingredients to provide a smart, healthy alternative to the highly processed, artificially flavored treats currently on the market. With the exception of some of our natural preservatives (which we import from Europe), all ingredients used in Plato treats are from North America.

Safety

Every one of our treats undergoes a rigorous panel of quality, freshness, and food safety inspections before, during, and even after they go into every bag.
